The Saturday Session #17

Hey there beautiful linky lovers. I am thrilled that you have popped back to the 2018 version of #thesatesh. If you are relinking, then welcome back and if you are new it’s super sparkly to have you. This linking is all about caring and sharing a group of talented writers and hopefully expanding our blog circles. If you don’t have a blog, then I implore you to also hit the blue box at the bottom of this post and have a read.

My featured blogger from last year…a whole three weeks a go (hehe), week #16 of the link party was easy to select. The Single Swan wrote an almost poetic account of finding ‘The One’ or in her case…not needing one, due to having an entire network around her. In a blogosphere surrounded by posts on new years resolutions, or not to have such things, I found it truly inspiring for someone to write about being content in the here and now. Both myself and my sassy cohost Hayley from Mission Mindfulness are very much connected to living in the now, mainly through meditation and mindfulness techniques – I also would go bonkers without yoga, tea and high heels (not necessarily together). Please also hit the link for Hayley’s post to see who her featured blogger is. The Single Swan’s (or Pen as her pseudonym) always writes beautifully and I love the hard and raw truth that her blog echoes, without ever sounded pitiful. If you are looking for a top blogger in 2018 – Pen is absolutely one to watch…perhaps even ‘The one’ (totes sorry – I couldn’t resist)

Happy New year and please read the rules below if you are joining us. If you can make time to link, then please also make time to badge up, comment and share the hashtag love.

The Saturday Sesh #15

Eeek, it’s December! I have two major rules in the run up to Christmas that may just change your life 1). Never enter the spirit before the 1st December – it makes for a long month, but fully submerge yourself from here on in. We will only be watching Christmas DVDs, listening to Christmas albums and any excuse to sparkle is fine by me (although this is a 365 day rule) 2). Never buy Satsuma’s after New Year – seriously they are perfectly in season now, but by the New Year you will be pulling sour faces, or even worse TASTELESS faces and reminding yourself that you should of taken notice of this little corner of the internet.

With the spirit of joy and love around the corner, I’m really enjoying reading blogs about enhancing kindness and giving, not from a commercial perspective, but my featured blogger this week is Rabbit Ideas with a Christmas wreath that’s edible for birds. I loved the idea, not just from a moral perspective but also as the post suggests its great for little hands and their motor skills. I am purchasing monkey nuts this weekend. The link is well worth a look at if you are looking for budget friendly children activities. Go on click the link above.

Also don’t forget that Hayley from Mission Mindfulness is also selecting a featured blogger, so why not see who she has selected?

Ready to link for week 15? Read the RULES below and please follow them. If you don’t comment Father Christmas will be updated and bottles of joy (both alcoholic and perfume) will be removed from his sleigh.

The Saturday Sesh #14

I’ve noticed that this linky introduction has also become a reflection on my week. This week was tough as we didn’t have water (Kitchen is being renovated)  and cooking facilities were non existent. I have to say through the chaos came so many blessing’s – we really do take ‘gadgets and gizmos of plenty’ (couldn’t help pop a Little Mermaid quote there) for granted and it did mean we needed to plan things a little better. We were also blessed with awesome friends and family who reloaded our drinking water bottle for us, did endless loads of washing, washing up and my Mum cooked us a chicken to feed us for a couple of days, plus some cakes (just because), it really made me appreciate our tribe. My school also had its Winter Fayre which means one thing – it Christmas in a months time people, time to start making plans and creating memories.

As I stated previously, I am feeling very blessed to have such an awesome tribe. This week I’ve decided to break the rules and make my featured blogger my cohost – I’m not sure this is politically correct, morally ethical and I certainly haven’t told her my plans (sorry hun), but I asked Hayley to join me on this mission because I adore her ethics, her political views and her moral compass… plus anyone who teaches teenagers, has twins under three and a primary school aged child and blogs with no sleep is a legend. I adore her and have enjoyed making a new friend for life this year (nope, you’re stuck with me), I loved this post all about her passion for Mindfulness and believe her message deserves recognition. Please also check out her page to see who Hayley has picked as her featured blogger. That said, there were some lovely posts this week and The Rhyming Mum never lets me down, I adored find or fakes frank and honest post on her new journey. Well worth a read if you can make time.

Anyway, time to link up for week 14, below are the RULES, please be kind – its really unpleasant when we need to remind people to comment, badge up and generally follow linky etiquette.

The Saturday Sesh #10

Time flies when you cohost a linky. Week ten and I’m loving #thesatsesh more than I thought possible. We really do have a lovely group of people and I was pushed this week to pick a featured blogger – however, some I wanted to select didn’t have the badge displayed and so I couldn’t pick them. If you are joining us please make sure you follow the few simple rules listed below. I love the variety of bloggers that we have, styles of posts and when I read them I literally go from tears of sorrow to tears of joy. You lads and ladies rock.

Always give *Hayley and Mission Mindfulness and quick click to see who she has picked, but my featured blogger is the superb Diary of an Imperfect Mum who I think is nailing it with her Kon Mari of the mind…a few weeks a go I wrote a post begging for comments on how to minimalist my ever growing home (seriously, my living room is a magnet of plastic toys that seems to cascades from my sons room to every corner of our home), a couple of people wrote they had or were in the process of reading the Kon Mari book, a google through the internet got me ‘thinking’ in a KM way however Catie nails it by first dealing with the chaos that are our minds. I’ve seriously always got several million tabs opening in my mind, it make sense to discard the clutter and breath with ease and joy. Plus the last line of her blog – “what sparks your joy?” was like a calling card for this magical princess, my favourite hobby is appreciating the sparkle of life. So many thanks Catie for spreading the joy and reminding us to look after our minds, please grab a featured badge from my side bar should you please.

Lets get this linking going!

The Saturday Sesh #6

img_2626

As we wave good bye to September and embrace the colder nights of October, it is with a warm embrace that I say thank you for joining our community of awesomeness and joy. This week I thought I’d start with a sprinkle of gratitude, giving thank’s for a sprinkle of self love and the benefits of making time to chill (in what was a crazy week of meetings and events), managing the demands of the world don’t get any easier, but I’m getting better at prioritising and also making time to ground myself. I hope you made some ‘you’ time also.

Every week myself and Hayley pick a featured blogger each from all #thesatsesh members who have linked up with us in the previous link, as I’m still having coding issues, it is with great Pleasure that I’d like to ask Lisa to click here to collect her badge – in fact why don’t you all press the link and see who Hayley has picked. Ops, I gave mine away 🙂 This week I really enjoyed reading the passion behind Lisa Pomerantzster’s Post on Edie Windsor’s sad passing, but clearly the love and respect Lisa has for her as an icon. I picked the piece as I adore learning and didn’t know enough about this remarkable lady (now I do), but mostly as previously mentioned I felt the love in Lisa’s words. It also made me reflect on who my icons are?
